Year 2 - Children's Mental Health Week

This year’s theme for Mental Health Week is ‘This is our place’. To celebrate this, we swapped classes and completed lots of activities about the places where we belong. We started by learning the song ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman. We discussed how the characters felt like they didn’t belong because they were different and people treated them differently. After singing the song, we realised that their uniqueness was what made them special. In the end, we could see that they had found ‘their place’ where they felt like they belonged. 

In the other classes, we had chance to practise some meditation strategies and draw our special places where we feel safe and where we belong.
